Who, What, Where, When, Why?

WHO:

All students and staff members of Islip High School are welcome to participate.

WHAT:

This is a Reading Olympics. You will challenge yourself by reading (or listening, yes, audiobooks count) to as many books as you possibly can in an 8 week period. (But first you'll choose the 'sport'/category in which you wish to participate. There's a level for everyone!)

WHERE:

Your training (reading) can take place anywhere. However, all activities such as, training exercises, trials, celebrations and medal ceremony will take place in the Olympic Village (aka The Library).

WHEN:

Timeline:

Dec. 9-13:  Advertise: Calling all Athletes to participate!

Dec. 16-20: Trials begin in the Olympic Village (Sign-up)

Dec. 21 - Feb. 4: Training

Feb. 7:  Medal Ceremony/Closing Celebration

*dates and times are subject to change if the need arises

WHY:

Goal: To increase students' reading for ENJOYMENT.
